Taking the leap from COO to Consultant
Leaving my career as a healthcare executive wasn’t easy. Over the last decade, I built operations from the ground up, led organizations through significant growth and scale, and made impactful changes that streamlined many well-established operations. I took great pride in my ability to balance business needs with people needs, creating a supportive environment for healthcare providers to do what’s best for patients, employees, and the bottom line.
When I decided to leave my executive role, I wondered if I would mourn losing my identity as a leader. I loved my job, but I was burnt out. I realized I needed time to reflect on my career and personal life, seeking a balance that satisfied my Achiever personality (Enneagram 3). But after a much needed break, my mission became clear. At my core, I am a helper. A helper with expertise in streamlining complex healthcare operations, innovating new ideas, and overcoming barriers to healthcare and wellness solutions. Now, as a consultant, I aim to broaden my impact by partnering with forward-thinking organizations dedicated to improving the physical and mental wellness of their employees and clients.
During my corporate tenure, I experienced a lot. I implemented new technologies such as project management software, electronic health records (EHRs) and customer relationship management software (CRMs). I tackled high attrition rates in a 400+ employee organization, revamping talent acquisition strategies that enabled the organization to hire over 140 clinicians in just 5 months. I white-knuckled through rapid growth and revitalized stagnant organizations.
This experience helped me empathize with the challenges that businesses in and around the healthcare industry face today. I felt a calling to apply my skills and experience in a new, more flexible way. One that allows me to live in a creative space where I can help build foundations and create meaningful change. One where I can partner with entrepreneurs, clinicians, and executive teams to bring their visions to life. I am now dedicated to helping organizations develop innovative strategies and build operations that position them for long-term success.
If you are looking for a collaborative and tenacious partner who isn’t afraid to think outside of the box and tackles problems head on, I’d love to connect with you!
